Anissa has a background in clinical nutrition and hospital-based care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Clinical Nutritional Sciences and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) at CU Anschutz.

Prior to transitioning into research, Anissa worked for five years in the hospital setting as a clinical dietitian. Working alongside patients and interdisciplinary care teams deepened her curiosity for the complexity of healthcare systems and strengthened her commitment to improving how care is delivered. After completing her MPH, Anissa hopes to work alongside hospital systems to improve clinical operations, particularly within nutrition-related services and healthcare technology.

In her free time, Anissa enjoys climbing, hiking, and skiing. She also appreciates slower days spent baking and hanging with her dog, Charlie.
