Secondary Data Resource (SDR) Core
About Us
The Secondary Data Resource (SDR) Core supports high-quality health services and outcomes research through secure access to large-scale secondary data. The SDR streamlines access to administrative and clinical datasets while providing the computing infrastructure, expertise, and consultation necessary to conduct rigorous, data-driven research. The SDR supports investigators across the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus at all stages of research, from early project development and grant planning to advanced analyses and dissemination. We provide consultation services, methodological and analytic support, guidance on data acquisition and governance, and mentorship for trainees and early-career investigators.
We currently offer access to MarketScan, which provides claims data from employers, health plans, and hospitals. It includes information for individuals with commercial insurance for more than 250 million de-identified enrollee records. Data include beneficiary enrollment and healthcare service, claims for outpatient, inpatient, and Emergency Department visits, and outpatient pharmacy claims for all enrollees.
