Dr. Scherer has spent over a decade applying her background in social and decision-making psychology to medical decision making research. The passion that connects all of Scherer’s work is discovering methods for communication and evidence translation that help patients to understand and act on the best possible evidence and avoid the influence of health misinformation. Her work also seeks to understand why people with similar characteristics and health risks often make drastically different choices about their healthcare, despite being presented with the same evidence.
